To Whom It May Concern,
I
recently purchased a '79 Buick LaSabre Palm Beach sight unseen from a gentleman
in California and needed to have it transported to my home near Dayton, Ohio.
In checking thru a number of past issues of Old
Cars Weekly I picked out a half dozen car transporting companies.
I phoned each one & got an estimate & after
reducing the list I called your publication to see what your staff had on each
company with regard to consumer complaints. I settled on Blue Highways A
Division of Mike Brooks Inc. out of Knoxville, IA.
My phone calls all went thru Melanie Brooks Funk
and you couldn't find anyone nicer to deal with. She was an absolute delight!
It turned out that Mike Brooks himself was making
the pick-up in California and he was on time with regard to phone calls to the
owner and was right on the money when it came to picking up the Buick. The
owner was extremely impressed with the care Mike took with the car as it was
being loaded. This is by no means a $100,000.00 car but Mike treated it as if
it was.
The communication as the car was making its
way to Ohio was just as professional as what had taken place in California. The
morning of the delivery Mike kept me informed as he came east on I-70 and we
arrived within two minutes of each other at the designated "drop zone".
Mikes restored '72 Peterbilt drew a lot of lookers
in the shopping mall where my car was unloaded. He gave four of us a tour of
his cab & sleeping compartment and it is a very impressive piece of
equipment.
I want to thank Old Cars Weekly for
their help in selecting this vendor.
It was real
pleasure to deal with Mike & Melanie and if I need anything else hauled
Blue Highways will get the job.
